Case Study
Creating a Fully Breathable Baby Nest Structure
At the 2015 Kind + Jugend exhibition in Germany, Chinese maternity brand CrowndLove discovered newborn lounger products and believed the category had strong potential in the Chinese market. However, the customer wanted a safer and more breathable structure than traditional latex or memory foam solutions.
Our Solution
Product Solution
1
Proposing a Fully Breathable 3D Structure
To improve both airflow and safety, we proposed a fully breathable 3D mesh structure solution. Mefiss Textile, our own spacer mesh fabric factory, supplied different spacer mesh materials for the sleeping area, surrounding support structure, and outer appearance layers.
2
Creating Different Functional Support Zones
The core sleeping area used a 20mm thick high-support spacer mesh structure to provide stable rebound performance. The surrounding side walls adopted a thicker large-hole spacer mesh design, balancing airflow, structural support, and product appearance.
3
Improving Surface Comfort for Newborns
For the baby contact surface, we selected a DTY yarn spacer mesh structure with softer touch performance suitable for newborn skin contact. The fully breathable structure from top to bottom helped improve overall sleeping comfort and reduce heat buildup.
4
Balancing Breathability & Product Appearance
Besides airflow performance, the customer also wanted the product to maintain a clean and premium appearance. We combined multiple mesh structures and outer covering layers to improve both product stability and visual presentation for the retail market.
