Case Study
Developing a Washable POE Air Fiber Mattress
In 2023, Hagaday launched a bedside crib collection with multiple size options and needed a matching mattress solution. The customer wanted to move away from traditional coconut fiber and sponge materials, creating a fully breathable, washable, and baby-friendly mattress structure instead.
Our Solution
Product Solution
1
Switching to a High-Airflow Mattress Core
To improve breathability and hygiene performance, we proposed using an 85mm thick 55D POE air fiber core instead of traditional dense materials. The structure provided strong airflow, stable support, and washable convenience for infant sleeping environments.
2
Improving Appearance With Independent Inner Covers
To make the mattress structure cleaner and more premium, Mefiss Textile, our own spacer mesh fabric factory, supplied B2E-6C spacer mesh fabric for independent inner core covers. This helped improve both product appearance and overall structural stability.
3
Creating Dual-Sided Sleeping Surfaces
The mattress outer cover adopted two different structures for year-round use. The A side used quilted spacer mesh fabric with around 10mm breathable thickness, while the B side used heavy-weight Tencel™ jacquard air-layer fabric for softer touch feeling.
4
Balancing Packaging & Large-Scale Production
For packaging, we used high-weight kraft paper bags to improve brand presentation while controlling packaging costs. The mattress structure also supported stable production across multiple bedside crib sizes including 200×80cm, 200×60cm, 160×80cm, and 160×60cm versions.
