Case Study
Helping Theraline Build a Safer Airflow Pillow
At the German Kind + Jugend exhibition, maternity and baby brand Theraline approached us looking for a safer and more breathable newborn pillow solution. Their previous attempts with latex and foam materials could not balance airflow, rebound support, and sleeping comfort for newborn babies.
Our Solution
Product Solution
1
Building a Fully Breathable Pillow System
To improve airflow around the baby’s head area, we designed a fully breathable pillow structure using multiple spacer mesh layers. Mefiss Textile, our own spacer mesh fabric factory, supplied both soft surface mesh and large-hole support mesh for continuous air circulation.
2
Creating a Softer Skin-Contact Surface
The pillow surface used a DTY yarn spacer mesh structure with a softer and fluffier touch suitable for direct newborn skin contact. The fine mesh texture improved comfort while still maintaining the high breathability required for infant sleep products.
3
Improving Support & Daily Maintenance
The pillow core adopted a thick through-hole spacer mesh structure that provided stable rebound support and reduced heat accumulation. Compared with latex pillows, the finished pillow was easier to wash entirely and dried much faster after cleaning.
4
Solving Thick 3D Mesh Sewing Challenges
Thick spacer mesh materials create lint and sewing difficulties during production. To improve finished product quality, we added additional lint-cleaning procedures and customized special binding components specifically for thick 3D mesh pillow sewing processes.
