Case Study
Developing an Anti-Mite Air Fiber Baby Mattress
In 2020, Bebebus planned to develop a breathable baby crib mattress for its foldable baby bed collection. The customer wanted a dual-sided mattress with visible antibacterial and anti-mite advantages, while also offering different firmness levels suitable for children at different growth stages.
Our Solution
Product Solution
1
Combining Latex & POE Air Fiber Structures
To balance softness and airflow support, we developed a dual-core structure using natural latex on one side and POE air fiber on the other. The latex side provided softer comfort, while the POE air fiber side improved breathability and stronger support performance.
2
Improving Hygiene & Anti-Mite Protection
The POE air fiber core passed REACH SVHC and RoHS testing while supporting direct washing. To further strengthen anti-mite performance, we used Evolon™ anti-mite fabric around the mattress core and added antibacterial and anti-mite treatment to the removable outer cover.
3
Creating Different Sleeping Experiences
The removable mattress cover used two different sleeping surfaces. One side adopted quilted air-layer fabric for softer touch, while the opposite side used 4mm spacer mesh to improve airflow and cooling performance for different seasonal and comfort preferences.
4
Balancing Packaging & Production Efficiency
To improve overall product presentation while controlling costs, we developed customized kraft paper bag packaging with large-format color labels. The structure also supported easier transportation and matched the customer’s premium maternity and baby brand positioning.
