Case Study
Developing a Rollable Kindergarten Nap Pad
In 2018, we started cooperating with Chinese maternity brand Foru, which operated multiple offline maternity stores in China. The customer wanted to develop a portable and breathable kindergarten nap pad that could adapt to different kindergarten bed sizes while remaining easy to carry and store.
Our Solution
Product Solution
1
Building a Four-Layer Breathable Pad Structure
To balance cushioning, airflow, and portability, we designed a four-layer quilted spacer mesh structure. Mefiss Textile, our own spacer mesh fabric factory, supplied both 3mm AC1 mesh surface fabric and two layers of 15mm T2D-26N through-hole spacer mesh support materials.
2
Improving Cushioning While Keeping Lightweight
The four mesh layers were quilted together into a structure close to 4cm thick. Compared with traditional foam mats, the spacer mesh structure improved airflow and rebound support while keeping the nap pad lightweight and easier to roll up daily.
3
Creating a Removable Dual-Sided Cover
To better match different seasons and simplify cleaning, we designed a removable outer cover structure. One side used anti-pilling waffle fabric, while the opposite side used soft cotton crinkle gauze fabric for more comfortable year-round use.
4
Optimizing Portability for Kindergarten Use
Because many kindergartens did not provide fixed storage space, portability became very important. We therefore developed cylindrical non-woven storage bag packaging, making the nap pad easier for parents to carry, roll up, and store daily.

What We Achieved
After launch, the breathable kindergarten nap pad quickly became a popular back-to-school seasonal product and maintained stable long-term sales in the children’s bedding market.
