Case Study
Developing a Washable Aquarium Filter Pad
As aquarium maintenance products generated large amounts of disposable filter waste, several aquarium brands approached us looking for a reusable filter pad solution. The product needed stable filtration performance, easy washing, long-term durability, and flexible size adaptability for different aquarium cleaning scenarios.
Our Solution
Product Solution
1
Improving Filtration Consistency
To create a more stable reusable filter pad, Mefiss Textile, our own spacer mesh fabric factory, developed the B2E spacer mesh structure using fine monofilament yarn on both surfaces. This helped create more even filtration holes and more stable water flow performance.
2
Creating a More Durable Reusable Structure
Unlike disposable filter materials that easily wrinkle or collapse after washing, the spacer mesh support structure maintained stable rebound and dimensional stability during repeated cleaning and long-term daily usage.
3
Supporting Better Water Flow Performance
The internal spacer structure helped water pass through the filter pad more evenly while reducing deformation during filtration. This improved both filtration efficiency and overall usability for aquarium cleaning applications.
4
Flexible Development for Different Aquarium Products
Besides supplying filter pad materials, we could also further develop customized filter bags and different finished filtration products according to customer requirements, helping brands adapt the structure for multiple aquarium product categories.
